The blood testing kits came in the mail today, and I enthusiastically snapped them up and joyfully proceeded to discover what my blood type was (something I have never found out). After a couple of squeamish moments (and having to have my husband do the actual "stabbing" part) I found out I am Type A Neg. Brian is O Neg so he could give me a kidney if I needed it. This caused me to flash momentarily on the Futurama episode when Hermes gets demoted, and wants to jump off the Planet Express building and the Professor tells him to stop hogging that healthy liver....but I digress.
After looking through both books, going through and picking out our favorites off of the "Good" and "Neutral" Food lists in the Blood Type book and crossing off items we aren't supposed to have in the 4-Hour book, and then cross-referencing the list for items that fall on both lists, we now have a pretty good idea of what our shopping list is going to look like for the foreseeable future.
As a Type A, I am to try to go vegetarian as much as possible - but I am also thinking that maybe my gluten sensitivity could be tied to the fact that for a long time, I've been eating entirely the wrong thing. If you eat the wrong stuff long enough, your entire body goes out of whack. So I'm going to ignore the gluten free bit for awhile, and see how it goes following the mostly vegetable diet, with a little bit of meat. I'm allowed a little bit, but I will have to watch it.
And now, a moment of silence for those items that did not make the cut, and to which we bid a fond farewell to (at least until the first "cheat" day :) )
